PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE - DR PETERWEBSTER
Welcome to 2017
I wish to welcome you to the 2017 school year at your Catholic Learning Community. It is with great anticipation that I look forward to the year ahead. I have included in my welcome ; our College ‘Ways of Being’ that provides guidance to the decision making within our community; and a poem by Thomas Merton ‘The Woodcarver’ – each student has hidden potential – together we can discover the potential in each child.
Ways of Being
• Welcoming Jesus Christ as the centre of our College life. • Examining all decisions through the lens of impact upon the diverse learning needs of all students. • Embracing and utilising community voice and involvement. • Building capacity of staff to use data to inform one’s own work and student learning. • Believing in the potential of every person and passionately holding high expectations. • Collaborating for an innovative, sustainable and just environments.
The Year Ahead
At this time of the year we are planning our year ahead and it looks very exciting for our students, staff and parents. 2016 witnessed a transformation within our College and the results of our students were simply amazing. I will briefly focus on three areas: Attendance, NAPLAN and HSC.
A quick update on the building program:-
• The Bus Shelter is due to be finished by the end of February and; • Planning for the College Hall is well underway. I have been obtaining feedback from our Parents & Friends Executive, our students and our staff.......it looks amazing!!!
